Comment: I agree with this sentiment, I have often felt bored or trapped when there is not much going on besides what I do daily. I often feel the need to do something out of my ordinary every few weekends. I think I would feel it more often if I did not play as many video games as I do, in a way video games are a safe kind of passive action source.
The second part of this quote is a very understandable sentiment for someone living in that time period and is still a sentiment many feel today. Such as in societies where women are not expected to do a lot. Even in this country it can be a reasonable thought because of the stereotypes of women. Although the stereotypes seem to flip flop between women being passive and women being hysterical.
